How I started hosting bicycle
travelers.
Visiting Cyclists
Near the end of 2003 I met some
bicycle tourists who were passing
my house in Parit Buntar, Malaysia on Road number 1 (Ipoh to Butterworth). They had great stories about what they experienced
on their bike tour. I
became enthusiastic and bought a bicycle myself and started bicycle touring in
southeast Asia. Now, I have my own Malaysian Home Stay for cycle
tourists.

Hi,
We met
David in April 2004 when we were cycling on our long journey from
Germany to Australia.
First we
were a bit confused about this very friendly and open man who told us
about his own cycling trips, but in the end we stayed 4 days at his
house with his family and for sure we had a nice time and saw something
more/different than the Lonely Planet Adventures!
Thanks
David and Good Luck!

My Home Stay
David's
Home Stay Video
A home stay in
Parit Buntar, Kerian, Perak I
bet you have never heard of Parit Buntar. I have lived and worked for many years
in
Parit Buntar. The town is about 45 kilometers south of Penang, the famous island in
northwest Malaysia. Parit Buntar is a small pleasant and relaxed town.David's Home Stay is not a
commercial guesthouse. When you stay here you will experience the life of a
local family in an
ordinary Malaysian town.
We have 2 extra rooms available with
shared bathroom, a place to camp, and homemade food. My friend Peter (from Holland) says the food my wife
makes is better then anywhere he has tasted, even better then India itself. I can't
say that since I have never been to India but my wife makes great food.
You may even meet other International cyclists while you are here. There are quite a few attractions around
this area that are worth a
visit. I also offer opportunities to visit places of interest in the surrounding area.
What I like to show visiting
bicyclists and guests?
Guest Book A visit in my Malaysian Indian family's home stay
will show you the unique culture we have in Malaysia. I like to show visitors sights in the neighboring area,
here are a few things that we can do:
You're not a cyclist? No problem,
I will pick you up at the
Parit Buntar Town bus station, just give me a call and let
me know when you plan to arrive.
